Construction work on the massive wind energy

project in the Gulf of Suez is progressing rapid marking another milestone in the growing cooperation between Egypt and China in renewable energy and sustainable development.

Chinese companies involved in the project continue the installation of modern wind turbines as scheduled, with the project expected to include 138 turbines and a total production capacity of 1.1 gigawatts.

Once completed, the wind farm will generate more than 4.3 billion kilowatt-hours annually, enough to provide clean electricity for over one million homes while significantly reducing carbon emissions.

The project highlights Egypt’s ongoing efforts to expand renewable energy sources, attract foreign investments, and strengthen its position as a regional energy hub across the Middle East and Africa.

It also reflects the increasing importance of Egypt-China cooperation in green infrastructure, clean technology transfer, and sustainable economic growth amid the global transition toward low-carbon energy solutions
