Sisi Receives Russian Presidential Aide in Cairo to Discuss Strengthening Maritime Cooperation and Joint Logistics Projects

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on April 27, 2026, in the capital Cairo, the aide to the President of the Russia, Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev, during an official meeting focused on enhancing maritime and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Nikolai Patrushev conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to his Egyptian counterpart, affirming Moscow’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Cairo, particularly in maritime transport, shipping, and logistics sectors.

Maritime and Strategic Logistics Cooperation

The two sides discussed a range of priority projects within the framework of Egyptian–Russian maritime cooperation, reviewing broad areas of bilateral collaboration. These included ensuring the stability and safety of commercial shipping, and enhancing participation in joint strategic logistics projects aimed at supporting international trade flows and strengthening supply chains.

Discussions also covered cooperation in maritime logistics, shipbuilding, and maritime education and training, contributing to the development of human resources and the exchange of technical and technological expertise between both countries.

Cooperation within Multilateral Frameworks

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between Egypt and Russia within multilateral platforms, particularly the BRICS group and the International Maritime Organization, in support of global maritime stability and the enhancement of economic and trade cooperation among member states.

The meeting reflects the growing strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia and their shared commitment to advancing cooperation in maritime transport, logistics, and international trade, serving the economic interests of both countries and reinforcing their positions within the global trade system.
